The Town of Virgin Is located along the Virgin River 20 miles west of Zion National Park on Highway 9, surrounded by beautiful BLM lands. It is the first small town settled in 1857, going into Zion Canyon. In 2021, about 668 people were living there. Some farmers raise hay and graze cattle along the river. Three housing subdivisions have lots for sale. The commercial property along the highway is being developed. Mountain bike trails are accessible, and Virgin is becoming a popular place for mountain bikers. Virgin is a place to consider if you want more elbow room and views of scenic landscapes.
If you are interested in a summer mountain cabin, the Kolob area of Virgin would be a place to consider, but it has no winter access.
