The Town of Rockville was settled in 1862 to grow cotton. They came and settled and histories explain they made the desert bloom. The town is located along the Virgin River on highway 9, just a few miles from Zion National Park, and about 229 people live there in 2021. The population has not changed that much since it was settled. It doesn’t have any culinary shares to be able to build. To live in Rockville you would have to buy an existing property that has a share of water or find an existing water share to buy. The town wants to keep its character as a small agricultural town and growth is fairly slow. They want to protect its small-town character. It is a very special place that everyone adores and it has become a retirement community. Hiking and biking are becoming popular on the mesas above the town. If you want to live in a small town, Rockville is a place to consider. I wrote a book about the history of Rockville, and you can find it at www.graftonheritage.org.
